Job Description

Major Responsibilities

Responsible for direct daily management of operations activities including:

+ Safety

+ Enforces all safety policies on the production floor

+ Partners with EHS to proactively manage safety risks/opportunities

+ Operations

+ Coordinates resources and sets daily priorities to meet operational objectives.

+ Measures daily KPIs within the department to ensure company goals are met or exceeded

+ Oversees and evaluates each cell of the production process to maintain optimum efficiency

+ Ensures required tools and materials are available and in working order

+ Applies operational business practices and coordinates with other closely related areas to improve efficiency

+ Leverage mechanical and/or process mindset to improve production processes

+ Quality & Compliance

+ Ensures all work instructions pertinent to the job are completed with regular audits

+ Submit corrections to any work instructions that would improve daily work functions

+ Conducts training as necessary

+ Proactively manage quality risks/opportunities

+ People

+ Supports an inclusive workplace free from discrimination and harassment

+ Communicates effectively with all Supervisors, Managers and associates

+ Conducts disciplinary discussions and performance reviews of the hourly staff

+ Maintains appropriate staffing levels when approving time off requests; monitor employees’ time and attendance

+ Foster inter- and intra- department collaboration

+ Continuous Improvement

+ Become familiar with the Danaher Business System (DBS) and leverage the tools to drive team success

+ Be a champion for driving a DBS culture in the department

+ Lead and participate in structured problem solving and sustain improvements

Required Education, Experience, Skills

Education:

+ Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the STEM or Business field

+ Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in an manufacturing environment

Experience/Skills:

+ Self-directed team player

+ Understands quality, PPE requirements, safety, and the importance of complying with safety policies and procedures

+ Experience leading in a team cGMP environment preferred

+ Experience with continuous improvement processes and lean manufacturing preferred

+ Experienced in ISO 13485

+ Excellent verbal and written communication and comprehension skills

+ Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Travel:

+ Less than 5%

Language:

+ English (read, write, and speak)

+ Reports directly to the Director of Operations

+ Direct Reports include:

+ 7 First Shift Team Members, including one Team Leader

+ 4 Second Shift Team Members, including one Team Leader

+ 5 Third Shift Team Members, including one Team Leader

+ Collaborates closely with other Operations Leaders, Sourcing & Materials Management, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance

External Relationships:

+ Collaborates with external raw material suppliers

Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, most work is in a manufacturing/shop floor environment. Lighting and temperature are adequate. Some exposure to outdoor weather possible. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

+ May be requested to work overtime and weekends for special program events
