Job Description
On Call Contingent IT Field Technicians
Part Time as needed Royal Communication Consultants, based in New York City, is looking for candidates for part-time (as needed) contingent work to assist with desktop support/network trouble tickets within the Chicago area. This work will be conducted mainly during normal business hours, but may also include work that needs to be completed at night and/or on weekends. We are seeking candidates who are 1 or 2 Level Desktop Support techs with a degree in the IT field, or certifications. These trouble tickets include the following:+ Vendor Escorts
+ Desktop Installs, Upgrades
+ VPN, Break Fix, Help Desk/Tech Bar
As mentioned, this work is on an as-needed basis and could reach up to 20+ hours a week. All work is paid with a four hour minimum (if the job only takes one hour, you will still be paid for four). Some of the daily projects include: Decom Work Cabling, data centers, and layer 1 networking or de-commissioning networks (ie) rack dismantling, patch panels, switches, routers, etc is a ++. (Having your own tools and vehicle is a plus) Data Center Strong knowledge of data center applications. Must have experience working installs/decommissioning Routers, Switches, Patch Panels, Cables and have worked in a “live wire” environment. Prefer candidates with tools(ie) gloves, cutters, console cable, fluke, flashlight, ladder and a laptop.Other information:
+ A laptop with USB console.
+ Mobile hotspot for internet.
+ Access to Zoom.
+ Power tools, cable cutters, ratchet set, and any other tools needed to remove data rack.
+ Ability to follow instructions.
