Job Description

SUMMARY

The Training Consultant will partner with business units to assess training needs and design, develop, implement, and evaluate training programs using a rapid development approach.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

+ Engage with stakeholders within Astrix Human Resources/Training and the wider business to understand the learning needs of the organization and how this supports the aims, objectives, values, and culture of the business.

+ Experienced instructional designer with strong project management and SME relationship-building skills.

+ Collaborate with internal departments to design and develop training curriculum (and all associated materials) that achieve defined learning outcomes; well-versed in the ADDIE and SAM instructional design models.

+ Contribute to interactions with business stakeholders that identify business requirements to ensure that learning requirements are suitably aligned to business needs.

+ Assesses training needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, instructors, and customer representatives.

+ Apply rapid course/curriculum development techniques to manage learning projects through completion.

+ Develops unique training programs to fulfill specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.

+ Creates training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials.

+ Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, and videos.

+ Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.

+ Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.

+ Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.

+ Performs other related duties as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, Communications or a related field required.

+ At least 7 years of experience in designing, delivering, and/or consulting on training required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS

+ Certification from the Association for Talent Development or Langevin Learning Services (i.e. Certified Instructional Designer or Certified Master Training) preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

+ Strong presentation skills.

+ Ability to perform needs assessments and to analyze areas of strength and weakness.

+ Ability to design, develop and deliver professional and effective training interventions.

+ Ability to apply adult learning theory to course/program development.

+ Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.

+ Ability to execute in a variety of roles (instructional designer, facilitator, or administrator) as needed by the business need and/or project at hand.

+ Experience with multimedia platforms and course authoring tools, including but not limited to: Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Canva, Camtasia, VideoScribe.

+ Experience using Cornerstone OnDemand Learning Management System

+ Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.

+ Related experience working in staffing or consulting in the Life Science industry, desired
