Position Summary
Scot Forge is a 130 year-old, 100% employee-owned company that manufactures custom open die and rolled ring forgings. At Scot Forge, we help our customers succeed in their most critical initiatives with forged solutions for everything from the world’s physical infrastructure, energy and transportation to manufacturing, mining, and our national defense. From the wheels of NASA’s Curiosity Mars Rover, to mission critical components for nuclear submarines, to large hydraulic cylinders for the largest mining trucks on the planet, Scot Forge creates the precision forged metal parts used in demanding applications all over the world. This is a 3nd shift position hours are 7pm to 7am.Under general supervision, diagnoses, maintains, and services a wide variety of diesel, gasoline and natural gas-powered equipment and vehicles; operates a variety of hand, power and shop tools.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
+ Work from maintenance work orders, parts manuals, service schedules, drawings, prints and instructions from Group Leader and Supervisor:
+ Actively participate in C.O.G.S. / T.Z. process to ensure the continued success of the program – maintain knowledge of process through training, perform scheduled observations, and provide quality feedback in order to promote safer work behaviors and conditions.
+ Performs basic repair and preventative maintenance on equipment including lubrication and filter changes, changes and repairs tires; installs and services batteries.
+ Ensures all safety devices on vehicles are in good working order. Maintains appropriate fluid levels, lights, fan belts and other basic vehicle parts
+ Perform operation test prior to repairs to verify complaint and performs final operational test on all vehicles to quality-check all repairs prior to releasing
+ Assists level 1 technician’s with repairs, maintenance assignments and adjustments
+ Basic welding, cutting and fabrication under supervision
+ May assist other departments as needed under supervision
+ Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance activities.
+ Maintain a variety of records in written and/or electronic form as directed
+ Complete production time cards ensuring that accurate records are maintained.
+ Communicate production and equipment problems to appropriate personnel.
+ Use time productively to ensure efficient departmental productivity.
+ Understand and follow the Scot Forge quality policy.
+ Work in cooperation with all fellow employee owners to sustain a strong team atmosphere.
+ Perform all duties in accordance with appropriate guidelines for hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal.
+ Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
+ Perform all maintenance duties following lockout/tag-out and fall protection procedures where required.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
+ Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in awkward positions and tight areas).
+ Must be able to lift weights exceeding 50 pounds.
+ Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent
+ Good mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
+ 2 or more years performing repair and maintenance on related equipment preferred.
+ Experience with diesel powered vehicles preferred.
+ Familiarity with the use of repair manuals, wiring & hydraulic diagrams and schematics
+ Ability to safely drive vehicles in and out of service area.
+ General knowledge of equipment components and systems.
+ Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
+ Ability to work in all weather conditions.
+ Good written and verbal communication skills
+ Must possess necessary tools to perform assigned tasks.
+ Familiarity with using a computer.

Additional Requirements+ Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S. without sponsorship.
+ Ability to pass a lift evaluation (up to 65 lbs.) pre-employment.
+ Must be able to pass a hair drug test.
