Farnsworth Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer-Asset Management in our Chicago, IL office. In this role, you will be responsible for execution of facility infrastructure assessments, project management, database management, financial analysis and planning with supervision.

Job Activities:

+ Support complex or large asset management projects and assist in maintaining project budgets and schedules.

+ Configure facility systems in software database consistent with the UNIFORMAT convention for architectural/civil/electrical/fire protection/mechanical and plumbing systems.

+ Collating existing building drawings for all disciplines, team calibration on assessment techniques, preparing data collection devices, assessment of facility interiors and exteriors, roofing, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire, and plumbing systems.

+ Provide quality control reviews for both pre and post site visit efforts to ensure data integrity and consistency.

+ Generate facility summary reports and perform quality control reviews of work deliverables.

+ Provide data entry and statistical analysis of assessment results.

+ Providing scope and rough order of magnitude costs for needed repairs and calculating condition and system indices for each assessed facility.

Specific Requirements include:

+ BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management. Other technical related degrees will be considered.

+ 6+ years of relevant experience with built environments

+ 2+ years in consulting on built infrastructure asset management, or facility management preferred.

+ Registered professional engineering license preferred.

+ Interact with Project Manager and Discipline Technical Leads to ensure compliance with project scope objectives.

+ Strong knowledge of building systems including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.

+ Ability to support several large complex projects simultaneously, and complete small projects independently.

+ Additional consideration will be given to candidates with significant experience in the operation, management, or commissioning of complex building systems as a representative of the Owner.

+ Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Excel

+ Experience with RS Means, and general exposure to opinions of probable cost estimating, is preferred.

+ Variable travel up to 25% of the time to support field operations.
