About the role
Kerry is currently seeking candidates for the role of Plant Manager for the Melrose Park, IL (Chicago area) facility. This is a key position that will have total site responsibility and accountability in a union-based manufacturing facility.
Key responsibilities
Accountable for all QHSE initiatives across the siteDirect and lead all operations within this union-based plant while driving employee engagement in the facility
Provide functional leadership to their team and within the plant
Control all costs that directly affect the plants performanceResponsible for all site capital projects
Develop and maintain qualified personnel within all departments
Maintain plant infrastructure for future viability and growth
Accountable for providing a safe working environment
Set overall expectations/standards and motivate employees to perform
Drive a continuous improvement mind-set within plant environment
Support cluster leads around strategy, policy and risk management
Ensure talent management and succession planning strategy are executed
Build relationships with customers at all levels
Ensure plant inventory is managed appropriately
Qualifications and skills
BA Degree or Equivalent Experience
Good business knowledge. / Prior management experience in a union-based manufacturing environment
Technology understanding of unit of operations.
Process and procedurally oriented.
Change management.
Knowledgeable in continuous improvement.
Analytical skills.
HACCP and food safety experience.
Safety and OSHA knowledge.
Experience in food, chemical or pharmaceutical industry. Union experience highly desirable.
