Job Title: Security Lead

Project Overview: The Northern Trust Company is looking for an enthusiastic, innovative Microsoft Security Engineer who can design and development of cybersecurity tools and technology along with integration of new architectural features into existing infrastructures while maintaining the integrity and security of enterprise-wide systems and networks. Serve as technical Lead to help facilitate and drive the successful design, development and implementation of a key application security projects for the Information Security Data Protection group.

Contractor's Role: This position will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies and methodologies including Microsoft MDATP, MS Cloud App Security, MS Purview etc.. In addition, the role will provide excellent exposure to key resources across the bank. The position will work closely with highly experienced and tech savvy resources, collaborate with multiple application teams, Information Security and Risk teams, and business and tech partners. A key part of this role will be working closely with application architects from other teams to understand their needs, determine a secure solution, and then communicate this solution back to architects to drive secure application solutions.

Qualifications (Must Haves):
Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps, MS Purview, Encryption
MS Exchange Online, Email Message Encryption using MS Purview / RMS
Should be able to Analyze, design and develop data loss prevention policies
Technically versatile and savvy, either with experience in multiple technologies, and/or the ability to pick up new technologies quickly.
Excellent analytical skills
In-depth understanding of information security and software development
Practical experience with security and authorization principles

Nice to Haves:
Application Security
Experience with Active Directory (AD) and ADFS
Experience with PowerShell and Shell Scripting for automating repeatable tasks and installations
Knowledge of server operations and maintenance
Understanding of cloud terminology, architecture, and tools to include installing, provisioning and monitoring

Tasks & Responsibilities:
Design and develop data loss prevention policies
Designing and develop, implement solution around encrypting email messages, data encryption etc.,
Investigate issues, alerts etc., resolve
Collaborate with application architects to understand their goals, objectives and pain points, and devise strong solutions to address them securely, effectively and efficiently.
Collaborate with Information Security Architecture, Infrastructure and Technology Risk organizations as needed to recommend strong solutions.
Be able to articulate solution and design in terms the business can understand.
Developing and using common development Frameworks and Patterns.
Promoting and leveraging general re-usability and the use of common services.
Gathering competitive and industry intelligence/research relevant to specific technology areas
Ensure the creation and deployment of sound solution designs and minimizes the company's overall technical debt by making informed, deliberate, and pragmatic decisions concerning the various factors involved.
