Summary: Responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing our networks. The goal is to ensure our IT infrastructure is secure and echoes our operational and strategic needs. The Network Administrator is crucial for the maintenance and advancement of our network infrastructure. With the organization's reliance on a robust and secure network for daily operations, this role ensures that our network is not only operational but also optimized for performance and security. This exempt position will report to the Senior Manager, Technical Infrastructure in the Division of Information Technology. It is based in our Chicago office and is a hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office/2 days per week remote. Primary Responsibilities: Enforce network security measures, managing firewalls, and implementing protective protocols using Cisco and Barracuda. Manage IP addressing, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and other network services, ensuring a seamless and secure network experience. Install, configure, and maintain networking hardware and software, with a focus on Cisco routers, switches, and security appliances, as well as Barracuda and Fortinet network optimization and security tools. Cisco voice and collaboration systems. Monitor network performance to ensure high availability and reliability, particularly in Cisco and Barracuda environments. Working with carriers. Document network configurations and maintain detailed records of network topology changes. Respond to network incidents and outages, providing swift resolution to maintain operational efficiency. Participate in the planning and execution of network-related projects, such as system upgrades, expansions, and new implementations, with a focus on Cisco and Barracuda solutions. Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex issues. Monitoring and supporting Wi-Fi. Apply knowledge of networking fundamentals and security concepts to collaborate with network teams and ensure cohesive infrastructure management. Actively participating in Rapid Response Team activities as require. Required Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university is preferred, but not required. At least 2-4+ years of similar or related experience is preferred. Network+ and CCNA certifications are a plus. Proven experience with network administration, especially in environments utilizing Cisco, Fortinet, and Barracuda technologies. Proficiency in managing firewall and network security appliances, with a strong preference for experience with Cisco, and Barracuda. Familiarity with cloud networking principles and SD-WAN technologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.
