Summary: Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our server infrastructure, virtualization environments, and associated storage systems. This role is pivotal in ensuring high availability, performance, and security of the IT services that support our organization's operations. With the organization's reliance on technology for all aspects of operations, this position ensures that our systems are not only running efficiently but are also secure and scalable. This exempt position will report to the Senior Manager, Technical Infrastructure in the Division of Information Technology. It is based in our Chicago office and is a hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office/2 days per week remote. Primary Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and manage server solutions using VxRail, VMware, and Windows Server technologies. Administer storage solutions including Dell Vault, Isilon, Unitrends, and Synology. Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, OneDrive for Business; SharePoint Online; Azure Active Directory and Teams. Maintain and administer Active Directory, DNS/DHCP services, and other domain services. Implement and oversee comprehensive systems monitoring strategies to ensure health, performance, and security of all IT systems. Ensure data integrity and availability with robust backup and disaster recovery strategies. Work closely with other IT staff and end-users to provide technical support, guidance, and training. Collaborate on IT projects and initiatives. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies. Prepare reports on system performance and issues. Collaborate with the security team to enforce data protection and compliance standards across all systems. Automate routine tasks to improve the efficiency and accuracy of system deployments and maintenance. Work with key vendor partners to support systems and implement best practices. Participating in Architecture Reviews. Required Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university is preferred, but not required. At least 2-4+ years of similar or related experience is preferred. VMware Certified Professional (VCP) and Microsoft 365 certifications are a plus. Demonstrated experience with systems monitoring tools and practices. Proven experience with VxRail, VMware, Windows Servers, Dell Vault, Isilon, Unitrends, and Synology technologies. Strong understanding of Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Domain Services, and networking fundamentals. Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible) is a plus.
