PROJECT COORDJob Number:389679 Description JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Project Coordinator Commission on Human Relations {Intergroup Relations and Outreach} Number of Positions:1 Under general supervision, the candidate selected to fill this position will design, develop, and conduct in-person and web-based educational workshops and training programs in various subject areas that advance the department's mission, customized for diverse audiences city-wide; coordinate the administration, development and implementation of assigned projects or programs moderate in size and scope; and perform related duties as required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: *Plans, conducts, and evaluates educational workshops and training programs to meet the needs of the general public including community-based organizations, faith-based institutions, youth groups, and other audiences throughout the city. *Develops general and customized outlines and materials and determines instructional methods. *Acts as an instructor or facilitator and collaborates with others to deliver workshops and programs. *Creates and employs evaluative tools such as tests, individual and group interviews, surveys, or other methods to assess effectiveness of workshops and trainings and modifies curricula, materials, and methods accordingly. *Coordinates registration, enrollment, and participation for assigned workshops and programs. *Maintains records documenting educational and training activities and prepares narrative and statistical reports utilizing case management software. *Collaborates on community engagement and outreach initiatives and helps to develop and conduct listening sessions. *Acts as a liaison with City departments, community-based organizations, and others. *Leads and collaborates on developing and managing special projects, as assigned. *Plans work schedules and priorities for project activities and manages multiple priorities. *Works independently and with public information officer to develop marketing strategies to encourage participation in workshops, projects, and programs. Additional duties may be required for this position. LOCATION: Commission on Human Relations, 740 N. Sedgwick Str. DAYS OFF: Monday thru Friday HOURS: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE Qualifications MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Social Sciences, Planning or a related field, supplemented by three years of progressively responsible experience in program administration, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required. Licensure, Certification, or Other Qualifications: N/A SELECTION REQUIREMENTS: This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a written exercise and/or a skills assessment test as part of the interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview will be selected. Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following: *Master's Degree in Education, Public or Business Administration, Social Sciences, Planning, Instructional design, Organizational Development or a related field *Bilingual (Spanish) *Proficiency with Microsoft Office *Previous experience in a role developing and designing educational workshops and/or training programs and materials. *Previous project management experience ALL REFERENCES TO POLITICAL SPONSORSHIP OR RECOMMENDATION MUST BE OMITTED FROM ALL APPLICATION MATERIALS SUBMITTED FOR CITY EMPLOYMENT.
