Construction Manager - Position and Responsibilities
As a part-time Construction Manager (CM) with Middough, you will assist Middough with a client project in the East Moline, IL area. The project is 3.5MM in TIC with the project assignment to begin construction in October and end in the Spring of 2024. In this role, you will visit the project site to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, schedule, and safety parameters as outlined by our client. As the CM, you will also interface with the client, union, subcontractor, security, and safety representatives of the project as well as plan/coordinate the field activities for the Middough Team. This position requires being on-site at our client location in East Moline, IL.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Coordinate inspections of constructed elements.
Monitor contractor adherence to ensure that all construction follows design specifications and is built to quality standards.
Monitor contractor compliance with the project construction schedule.
Monitor all safety requirements for Middough, client organization, and local/State/Federal authorities are met.
Communicate with the client, Middough teams, and other consulting organizations to provide status updates.
Education, Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following:
10+ years of experience in site construction management preferred.
Previous experience managing commercial building and mechanical projects is preferred.
Working knowledge of construction means, methods, and standards.
Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with clients, all levels within Middough, and subcontractors at client site around professionalism, trust, integrity, and collaboration.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Ability to multi-task and be highly organized for effective project management.
Excellent attention to detail and strong written communication skills.
Strong problem-solving skills.

May be required to frequently walk up to and more than 5,000 steps per day, reach with hands and arms, climb several flights of stairs per day, ladder ascending and descending, balance, stoop or kneel, bend/twist, and use repeating motions that may include the wrists/hands/fingers.
Must have the ability to hear and speak at all times.
May be subject to confined space entries and non-confined space work requiring bending, reaching, climbing with inspection tools, harnesses, and lanyards.
Infrequent ability to move up to 50 pounds and frequent ability to move up to 10 pounds.
Frequently use up-close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
Should not expect adverse environmental conditions within company offices.
May be exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as climbing ladders and/or stairs, extreme heat and/or cold, and/or poor air quality) if or when on-site at a client facility. Safety protections to be provided by the client and/or company and are required to be used and followed.
May require occasional car or air travel to other company locations or client sites.
This position requires the candidate/employee to possess and maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence.
