Job Description
Under general supervision but according to established procedure, patrols hospital areas, assist with combative patients, locks, unlocks doors, and performs similar related duties in order to provide a safe and secure environment for patients, employees and visitors. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work requires communication and analytical skills normally acquired through a high school education or GED
Six to twelve months of on-the-job training and experience in order to acquire a thorough knowledge of Hospital areas and facilities.
PERC Certification required, F.O.I.D. a plus
CPR and CPI Certification preferred
Must successfully pass an extensive background investigation and drug test.
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently with supervision
Demonstrate the ability to recognize, establish and deal with priorities promptly.
Ability to operate a computer and related software
Ability to interpret and follow RCH policies and regulations
Ability to recognize and find both security and safety hazards
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public.
Knowledge of Meditech systems; Kronos systems and Microsoft Office software
Adult Behavioral/Mental Health Experience preferred
