The team you'll be part of Nokia Technologies is licensing Nokia intellectual property, including patents, technologies, and the Nokia brand, building on Nokia's continued innovation and decades of R&D leadership in technologies deployed in virtually all connected devices used today. You will be joining our IoT team which is licensing Nokia's essential patents related to cellular standards, as well as patents related to many other technology areas, to companies benefiting from Nokia innovations in their IoT solutions across various industry verticals. What you will learn and contribute to The IoT Licensing Team is now looking for a Licensing Director to strengthen presence in North America. The Licensing Director is primarily responsible for negotiating and closing licensing agreements, but also plays a role with respect to processes and business continuity to ensure that the IoT program will meet its business targets in short- and long-term. Are you passionate about solving problems? As part of our team, Licensing Director: Closes patent licensing agreements as a lead negotiator, while taking into account overall strategy and broader business goals of the company; Manages licensing projects and related customer engagement plans; Develops and implements negotiation strategies to deliver licensing revenue efficiently; Is responsible for high quality of processes and ways of working in his/her area and projects; Demonstrates strategic thinking and broad business perspective in order to design and develop projects and processes in the field of IoT patent licensing; Influences broader business strategies to address internal or external business and customer needs. Your skills and experience You have: Significant relevant work experience and expertise - experience in patent out-licensing is a must University degree: Master's degree of Laws (or other relevant field) Proven track record in negotiations to completion (deal-making) Ability to understand all sides of a negotiation to seek effective and creative solutions Good negotiation, influencing, communication and presentation skills Familiarity with patent licenses and other related legal agreements and ability to draft them Ideally experience and expertise in out-licensing of both standard essential portfolios (under FRAND principles) as well as implementation patents Project management skills, and determination to see things through to completion.
