HOURS:+ Second Shift
+ 2nd shift has 10% shift differential
+ Typical hours are 1 pm – 12 am or 7 pm to 6 am
Scot Forge is an employee-owned company that manufactures custom open die and rolled ring forgings used in demanding applications all over the world. At Scot Forge, we help our customers with forged solutions from the world’s physical infrastructure, energy, and transportation to manufacturing, mining, and our national defense. Position Summary Perform duties to troubleshoot, repair, install, build, calibrate, tune, and maintain a variety of Heat Treat and Forge equipment and systems. Perform Temperature Uniformity Surveys (TUS), System Accuracy Tests (SAT), furnace control instrument calibrations, field instrument calibrations, tune combustion system to maintain operation of furnaces in accordance with quality compliance and aerospace specifications. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities+ Diagnose combustion, electrical, and other equipment problems using a variety of test procedures.
+ Dismantle combustion, electrical and other equipment; replace defective parts, reassemble and test.
+ Understand and work with wiring diagrams and schematics.
+ Install and modify equipment in accordance with code requirements.
+ Perform calibrations, tuning, and preventive maintenance as required by specifications and procedures.
+ Maintain accurate documentation of tests and calibrations.
+ Work from quality procedures, customer specifications, industry specifications, machine manuals, and instructions from Group Leaders, Supervisor, and Service Technicians.
+ Assists during installation of new equipment and retrofits of existing equipment.
+ Provide support for startup of new equipment.
+ Perform all duties in accordance with appropriate guidelines for hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal.
+ Schedule preventative maintenance, testing, and calibration with appropriate production personnel.
+ Assist in the installation of refractories and set up cure out of castable refractories.
+ Understand and follow the Scot Forge safety and quality policy.
+ Perform other maintenance duties as required.
Qualifications+ High school diploma/GED and completion of craft apprenticeship or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
+ Associates degree preferred in mechanical, electrical or industrial.
+ 2-5 years’ experience in a heavy industrial maintenance, preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee may be exposed to extreme heat, and may be exposed to outside weather conditions, or near fumes, airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals. When in the area of production, noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
