Job Description:

Fulfilling these responsibilities will require the candidate to work collaboratively with all team members in the department.

- Coordinate with investment teams and portfolio company personnel to obtain data required to support valuation models

- Build and maintain valuation models and develop recommendation of fair value presented to investment deal teams on a quarterly basis

- Maintain supporting valuation documentation with appropriate traceability and audit trails, formal sign-off processes, etc.

- Coordinate with third-party valuation firms to support the firm’s valuations

- Respond to inquiries from the firm’s auditor regarding the concluded valuations and supporting documentation

- Maintain and update portfolio monitoring and valuation information database, which may include:

o Working with investment professionals within the firm and financial management of portfolio companies to gather monthly financial and operational performance results

o Assisting in aggregation, analysis and investigation of portfolio company performance for use by the partners in managing the portfolio

o Reconfiguring data values and metrics tracked in the database

o Analyzing individual portfolio company financial results in order to identify and monitor key drivers of business performance and value creation

o Preparing periodic internal and external portfolio reporting packages

- Monitor industry best practices (e.g., IPEV or AICPA task force)

Requirements

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or a related field

- 2+ years of experience in accounting, investment banking, private equity, valuation, or other financial analyst role with either valuation, FP& A or operational transaction services experience

- Progress towards a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) designation is a positive

- Strong Business Acumen: The operations of the portfolio companies are complex with significant breadth. Developing a sufficient understanding of the firm’s investments and developing pragmatic, risk-adjusted approaches to analysis and review requires strong business acumen.

- Written Communication Skills: The position requires the preparation and/or oversight of written memorandums and analysis of valuations. Strong written communication skills are required to ensure the valuation memorandums are written clearly and concisely, address the key valuation risks identified and adequately support firm’s recommendation of fair value.

- Willingness to work effectively in a team environment

- Relevant experience in technology is a positive
