This role is hybrid on-site (3) days a week-Chicago/Northbrook, IL or Detroit, MI

Business marketing translates the organization’s business objectives, market opportunities and portfolio of offerings into a well-defined, cohesive go-to-market strategy for the COU. The Business marketing leader aligns products, services and solutions to market segments, thereby driving clarity and efficiency in go-to-market execution.

The Manager Business Marketing will lead a team that partners with the business to maximize the global commercialization efforts. This team leader will collaborate extensively with the Mobility and Critical Systems (MCS) COU leader and business team to provide commercial insights and data that support new and existing portfolio decisions, develop the messaging, and strategy that empowers the marketing organization to develop and execute a plan that meets the growth targets and business objectives, and work with the sales organization on enablement, global customer presentations and their revenue generation efforts.

+ Cultivates industry knowledge and manages a team that is responsible for defining the market opportunity for MCS industry, inclusive of the full set of solutions across all relevant Customer Operating Units.

+ Develop a go-to-market playbook and interlock across the marketing organization to help meet defined growth targets and tactical marketing support needs.

+ Monitors industry trends (regulations, macroeconomic conditions, trends, business challenges) and acts as a subject matter expert.

+ Manages an organization’s efforts to complete competitive analysis to identify opportunities for growth and impending risks.

+ Interlocks with strategic communication, Marketing Operations and Regional Marketing to manage the team responsible for the development of buyer-centric campaigns/programs that build awareness and demand for industry solutions.

+ Helps write or curate content in industry vernacular (playbooks, case studies, blog posts and sales training materials) for industry inbound and outbound marketing activities.

+ Manages efforts to monitor and report on business marketing successes and return on marketing investment (ROMI) against defined goals/metrics.

+ Understands the demand type and primary influencer audiences within an industry and maps out the customer buying process, isolates nuances and patterns.

+ Contributes to, or helps manage the creation and ongoing maintenance of, industry-specific buyer personas and identifies target accounts within the industry.

+ Manages a strong team collaboration with a formal sales enablement function, solution specialists, i.e., cyber, Global Market Access (GMA), sustainability and functional safety, on a well-defined sales enablement plan.

+ Act as the liaison for the business, ensuring the marketing plan is achieving the growth and desired results of the business.

+ Accountable for global marketing pipeline contribution in support of delivering on global business growth goals.

+ Contributes to business success by performing other tasks as required. Manage marketing budget and make informed investment decisions in support of growth targets.

+ Read and follow the UL Solutions Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE PREFERRED.

+ Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing, communication or a related field, plus generally more than eight years of experience including three years or more of relevant management/leadership experience. Strongly prefer experience out of Critical Systems industry.

+ Experience with enterprise level digital solutions.

+ Value based consulting and training.

+ Strong facilitation, project planning and management.

+ Experience in Engineering professional services; Automotive Product Verification (PV)/Design Verification (DV) testing.

+ Strong capabilities and experience working with senior leaders.

+ Sales enablement best practices.

+ Able to understand technical and scientific issues and to translate complex information for nonscientific audiences.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience managing and/or using a wide array of internal communication tools.
