Job Description

Automation Manager Coilcraft, a successful privately-held company based in Cary, IL, renowned globally for its high-quality passive electronic components, operates across diverse industries such as telecommunications, automotive, broadband communications, and consumer electronics. We are currently seeking an Automation Manager to lead our in-house high-speed automation department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and effective leadership skills. Responsibilities: Oversee the design of automation for various products and assemblies, leveraging expertise in electronic controls, pneumatic actuators, mechanical systems, and operator interfaces. Supervise the development of new automation concepts and specifications or enhancements to existing products, incorporating input from multiple sources (manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, marketing, etc.). Manage the setting, implementation, and maintenance of work schedules to ensure timely project completion. Observe the work and performance of machine builders and design engineers, actively resolving any obstacles or issues. Recommend and implement measures to enhance production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiency. Provide technical support by furnishing information and answers to other engineers, departments, and customers. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in design engineering or a related field. 5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience. 7+ years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to lead teams, communicate priorities effectively, and drive projects forward. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
