Job Description
I operate a row crop farm based in Lovington, IL where we raise corn, soybeans, and wheat. Currently managing 18,000 acres spread out over a 60-mile radius and operated from three farm bases. Operations include planting, spraying, harvesting, tillage, farm trucking, drainage tile install, excavation, grain handling, equipment maintenance, farm building construction and carpentry on our own farm. We operate John Deere equipment with GPS systems on all operations. Employees will need to operate equipment and complete general farm labor to help with all operations. Spring operations will include tillage, planting, & spraying operations. Summer season will be equipment maintenance, spraying, mowing, excavation, and construction projects. Fall season will include operating a combine, auger wagon, tillage equipment, tile installation, and hauling of crops with trucks. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion.
