The Staff Building Automation Engineer will participate on both multi-disciplinary and controls-specific engineering teams to develop and review Building Automation Engineering design packages, perform calculations and develop engineering solutions in support of capital and retrofit projects in a variety of locations. Work duties can consist of any of the following depending on client, project, and consultant role:
+ Assists in development of design drawings and specifications for design of primarily HVAC control systems and EPMS, for both PLC-based systems and DDC-based systems (System is client-specific)
+ Coordinate with mechanical and electrical design teams to develop Sequences of Operations and Point Lists for HVAC control and electrical monitoring of equipment and systems
+ Create engineering drawings for control panel and field wiring designs including installation details, bill of material, and P&IDs
+ Manage quality reviews of project submittals.
+ Evaluate technical bids and managing vendor and subconsultant contracts
+ Review and approving of vendor and subconsultant drawings, including Sequences of Operation, Points Lists, Engineering Drawings, Bill of Materials, Graphics, and Test Scripts
+ Participate in Software Bench Tests, Software Factory Acceptance Tests, and Equipment Factory Witness Tests
+ Provide technical assistance during commissioning at project site.
+ Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
+ Facilitate multi-consultant and Owner meetings for design changes and implementation
+ Lead production of engineering drawings using Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD Electrical, or ePlan
+ Supports RFI responses and associated work plans
+ Ensures adherence to client and industry standards and applies client or industry standards, guidelines, specifications, practices and procedures in preparing designs.
+ All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
+ Master of Science degree in above Engineering programs or related may be substituted for 1 year experience.
+ PE license preferred in Mechanical or Instrumentation & Controls
+ Minimum 2 years of either Building Automation System (BAS) or mechanical HVAC engineering experience
+ Ability to interface, mentor and collaborate effectively with your team members
+ Demonstrated ability to work in a team
+ Strong organization, delegation, presentation and communication (both written and verbal) skills
+ Proficient with business and engineering applications.
+ Proficent in Microsoft Office
+ Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and drawing production from Revit is preferred
