Job Description

Brief Overview of Position

The Logistics department supervisor will be responsible and oversee the inbound,(receiving) outbound, (reverse logistics) and BOH (Back of House) operations. The Logistics department supervisor will oversee the Inventory Team that handles all BOH inventory, including BOH picking for orders and be integrated in all fulfillment processes. In addition, the Logistics department supervisor will partner and assist in all daily and outbound flows and replenishment of in store product and non inventory items. This department supervisor position will work in close partnership with Asset Protection through safety initiatives and inventory management and with direct collaboration with the Visual Merchandising and Sales Floor Team and their functions.

Essential Functions

  • Lead receiving operational processes and ensure the functions are being performed correctly.
  • Delegate and assign work operations as it relates to store in-stock levels and replenishment.
  • Manage the incoming and outgoing inventory in-store and conduct necessary training within the department.
  • Ensure the proper use and accountability of tools and powered equipment.
  • Ensure the team remains compliant on all regulations and Wayfair policies, including safety in Back of House.
  • Keep product moving and oversee the cleanliness of the department, including daily trash compacting.
  • Lead a team through inbound truck operations as it relates to unloading the trailer, sort processes of inventory, and replenishment on the floor.
  • Assist in schedule formulation of inbound teams.
  • Utilize the Wayfair People Principles to coach and mentor the team and aid in their career development.

Experience Qualifications

  • 1-3 years Retail experience with a focus in Logistics preferred Required
  • 1-3 years Leadership experience motivating and influencing a team to deliver results with agility Required
  • Proven record of strong team delegation and work prioritization and execution to completion Required
  • Ability to multitask and navigate through various systems and tools.
  • Ability to adapt and learn new technology/systems and software
  • Experience leading multiple departments/work areas, such as receiving, inventory control, pick, pack, ship and return of product.
  • Power Equipment experience preferred – Must be able to operate or willing to be trained.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer-centric approach.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays (High proficiency)
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team sales environment (High proficiency)
  • Technical acumen to learn necessary software; proficiency in Google Suites and/or Microsoft Office applications preferred. (High proficiency)
  • Track record of thriving in a fast paced and changing environment (High proficiency)
  • Capability to adapt to store priorities and to effectively communicate and delegate workload to a large team (High proficiency)
