Job Description
Major Purpose:
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
- Responsible for supporting production processes and machines. Works as part of a team of engineers that develop and maintain manufacturing processes.
Typical task breakdown:
- Assist machine operators with machine faults, recoveries, and setups
- Document process changes
- Maintain engineering documentation: Control plans, Tool lists, etc.
- Troubleshoot and correct causes for nonconforming parts
Interaction with team:
- Largely independent work within a team of engineers
Work environment:
- Factory. Expected to be on the factory floor 50% of time
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelors in manufacturing engineering or equivalent degree and 5years experience is preferred
- Associate degree and 6+ years’ experience acceptable
- 10+ years’ experience with no education acceptable
Technical Skills
(Required)
- CNC machine experience
- CNC machine troubleshooting experience
- Indicating a tool/part
- Demonstrated problem solving capability
(Desired)
- G-code writing capability
- Experience with precision grinding and/or honing
- CAM experience
