Are you an engineer with a large amount of systems experience that is looking for your next challenge? Then look no further! This position will have you working alongside the Power Distribution Systems Discipline Chief to further grow your knowledge base while allowing you to use your experience to help across all of the Power Distribution programs that are both currently in design as well as those already in the field. In this role you will have the ability to step in and provide leadership to a technical team as well as have the opportunity to operate independently depending on the tasks at hand.

Day to day you will be working at the direction of the Systems Discipline Chief who will delegate tasks to you that are intended to challenge and stretch your abilities while they provide guidance to help you grow while doing these tasks. These tasks can range from investigating test failures for a current 4th gen Secondary Power Distribution System in development one day to performing an RCCA investigation on a 30-year-old fielded system the next day to helping define the architecture for Power Districts, the next generation of High Voltage DC power distribution, the day after that!

Primary Responsibilities:

+ Work in a team environment with Hardware, Systems and Software groups to troubleshoot ZHR and field issues for 4th Gen, 3rd Gen and legacy programs. (A220, C919, A400M, Global Express, ERJ, E2, etc)

+ Coordinate with Hardware, Systems and Software teams in support of new EPS architectures (particularly Power Distribution Systems) and program development using prior program lessons learned.

+ Interact with customers to define requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts, and design effectiveness.

+ Support RFIs and new business proposals

+ Support RRCA investigations for hardware failures (development HW and fielded HW)

+ Act as Hardware and System process assurance lead

+ Define EMI test setup (TSRD) and software configuration for EMI test

+ Support system level EMI planning, testing, troubleshooting and document approval

+ Review and approve TPs and AERs for product certification

+ Propose new procedures or improve existing HWSP and SESPs to support platform level requirements and configurations.

+ Act as Chairperson for CRRB platform level

+ Coordinate Change Request (CR) databases with the HS Germany team as well as other suppliers

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

+ Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

+ U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience in Systems/Software Engineering architecture, requirements, development, and implementation

+ Familiar with wire protection schemes and SSPC trip curves

+ Technical writing experience, in developing domain-focused white papers, trade studies, and technical/policy documents in support of initiatives, programs, and proposals

+ Knowledge of Synergy CR, CM and Polarion

+ Knowledge and familiarity with creating EMI-Embedded test software for qualification testing

+ Knowledge of RTCA standard for AEH, Software and Hardware certification (DO160, DO254, DO178, DO297, DO331)

+ Knowledge of aerospace recommended practice for systems, safety, and EMC (ARP4754, ARP4761, ARP60493)

+ Knowledge of MIL-704, 7016

+ Knowledge of HWSPs and SESPs

+ Knowledge communication buses protocol (A664, A429, A825, CAN, CAN FD, TTP)

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD – 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
