As a Senior Associate Quality Application Engineer, you’ll be a key part of our agile delivery teams- from helping refine and test requirements, to building automated regression test suites. You’ll ultimately help ensure your team continually delivers quality applications into production at Discover. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

Responsibilities

+ Completes most features and user stories including test cases and automation unattended

+ Learn more complex software engineering practices such as domain driven design, test driven development, operations, and security

+ Contributes to agile ceremonies, leads demos and presentations, helps new engineers learn established norms, and participates in technology communities

+ Participates in system design decisions and learns how these decisions impact the product as a whole

+ Learns to support production systems and understands how observed events and failures impact the product

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

+ Bachelors – Computer Science or related

+ 1+ Years – Information Technology, (Software) Engineering, or related

+ Internal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of advanced beginner on the Dreyfus engineering scale

Preferred Qualifications

Bonus Points If You Have:

+ Experience in Cloud Technologies, preferably AWS

+ Experience in building and maintaining APIs, containerized applications/services, and IaaS

+ Passionate about high quality standards and test automation practices

+ Programming language experience in Java and/or Python

+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

+ Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills

+ Superb collaboration and communication

+ Great organization and time management

+ Pact knowledge and experience in Golang is a plus

+ Full stack web applications development experience using React, Node.js is a plus

+ Risk management knowledge is a plus

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $71,500.00 to $121,100.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
