This individual will be onsite as a Design Manager reporting to the PMO Director of Planning and Design. They will be responsible with assisting with development of programs for proposed new buildings and annexes; large scale renovation initiatives; and other unique strategic planning endeavors. They will prepare planning concepts and associated budgets for consideration of feasibility, provide research/review of code issues, technical specifications, best practices as needed. Main responsibilities include:

  • Manage development of concept designs and documentation.
  • Follow and implement ADA guidelines to support all design and construction projects.
  • Monitor design intent and design decisions to ensure consistency with City standards.
  • Procure necessary supplemental reports as needed.
  • Establish preliminary design and construction budgets for individual capital projects.
  • Meet with Project Management team to communicate project designs, receive input, adjust design as necessary and facilitate the acquisition of easements.
  • Coordinate review and approval of plans by all relevant entities
Focus on the ongoing client relationships Develop project scopes and budgets for individual project & Develop and maintain project schedules Coordinate with departments and principals to ensure project designs meet expectations Assists with FF&E requirements for each school Collaborates with PMO member for the development of processes

Skills and Requirements

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in architecture or related field. - 6+ Years of experience in Architecture or Design for Interior and exterior of small/large commercial buildings - Accessibility, ADA, and Code Compliance knowledge and experience. - Software experience and Knowledge: Bluebeam, CAD, Project Management Software

Pluses:

- Schools experience - Licensed Architect
