Job Description:

The VP of Reporting, Communication, and Governance will be part of the Office of Remediation and report directly to Discover’s SVP, Office of Remediation.

The Reporting, Communication, & Governance team is responsible for reporting and interactions with the Board, senior management, and regulators (where appropriate) on in-scope remediation programs.

Responsibilities:

Lead cadence, agenda, and reporting to the Board and senior management (EMC, GCC) on the following topics. Focus on insight and synthesis of the following factors:

+ Project/program status

+ Issue remediation status

+ Emerging risks/themes

+ Outcomes and sustainability

+ Independent assessments, thematic analysis across reporting, and surfacing of issues

+ Regulatory Progress reporting

+ Performance management metrics

Includes setting and maintaining a proactive cadence and medium of communication with committees (including the GCC) and agenda setting on key points for discussion, topics that are not needed, topics for discussion, or areas where offline informing is acceptable.

Manage escalation of topics to governance forums and driving decision-making on prioritization (including convening and governance on topics of Challenge, Change Control, and Business Closure)

Provide input into assessment of key stakeholders’ performance in executing against Office of Remediation related commitments

Conduct evaluation of in-scope matters, regulatory findings and supervisory expectations, themes across actions messaging and narrative response. Support and challenge responses to regulators to ensure letter and spirit of feedback is addressed

Review and analysis of Regulatory Progress Reporting for consistency, accuracy, and transparency of messaging across regulatory reporting

Engage with regulators on status and progress

Prepare for and debrief from regulatory meetings and other communications related to in-scope matters with senior leadership and the Board

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Management, Economics, Finance, or Communications

+ 15+ years of experience in regulatory policy, supervision or relations or in a role requiring deep regulatory understanding

+ Track record of managing senior client or regulatory relationships at peer institution Experience in establishing (and evolving) governance oversight.

+ Experience in running governance structures.

+ Broad understanding of relevant banking regulation and supervisory expectations for large financial institutions

+ Strong analytical thinking and ability to synthesize themes and implications from multiple data points and sources

+ Superior oral and written communication skills, and in particular ability to assess and contribute to the content of large regulatory submissions

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Masters in Business Administration and Management
