Job Description

PROGRAM MANAGER – Abbott Diabetes Care, an Abbott Labs Co. / Buffalo Grove, IL Responsible for leading New Product Introduction (NPI) project portfolios and product launches in third-party manufacturing of medical device products according to the company’s project management methodologies. Translate general business goals and objectives into concrete strategic and tactical plans. Ensure that program scope and success criteria are clearly established and develop and manage overall program plans to meet deliverables. Serve as primary manufacturing program lead for division wide cost savings projects. Lead New Product launches for new division products manufactured at third-party locations. Lead the completion of design transfer activities for single and dual analyte platform products. Support regulatory submission processes and regulatory compliance for product portfolios, including submissions of 510Ks and compliance with FDA 21 CFR 820 and ISO 13485. Interface with R&D, commercial teams, supply chain, quality, regulatory and operations teams to formulate and execute project activities to achieve divisional targets. Serve as team liaison to executive management. Lead and champion project management best practices, including forecasting, commitments, milestones, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), progress, critical path, risks, contingency plans, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) . Work within cross-functional teams and ensure team is working within project/program scope and effectively coordinate the activities of the team to meet project milestones . Create and maintain updated project schedules using MS Visio and MS Project. Proactively identify changes in project/program scope and assure appropriate measures are taken to reassess and amend requirements, budget, and timeline. Up to 15% domestic travel required to manufacturing sites. Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in an Engineering field of study (Will accept a Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of related progressive professional experience in lieu of a Master’s degree). Each alternative requirement with at least 2 years of experience in: (i) FDA regulated industries, including pharmaceutical, medical device manufacturing, healthcare, or related industries; (ii) leading New Product Introduction (NPI) project portfolios; (iii) project management best practices, including forecasting, commitments, milestones, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), progress, critical path, risks, contingency plans, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); (iv) working within cross-functional teams and ensuring team is working within project/program scope and effectively coordinating the activities of the team to meet project milestones; and (v) creating and maintaining updated project schedules.
