As a Financial Institutions Credit Risk Associate in the CCBSI FIG team, you will partner with senior underwriters on the team to provide forward-looking credit and financial analysis of new and existing clients. In support of these clients’ relationships with JPMC, partnership and coordination is required with areas across the firm including: coverage banking, treasury services, loan syndications, debt capital markets, F/X and rates desks, and asset management. You will work with the credit team to analyze financial statements and build financial models in support of credit’s initial and ongoing assessment of risk. You will also be responsible for on-going monitoring and risk management work across the portfolio. You will be an instrumental member of the Risk Management team that will manage deal documentation negotiations / execution and is also responsible for the on-going monitoring and risk management of an assigned portfolio of credit relationships.

Job responsibilities

+ Identify and evaluate the key risk factors associated with clients, transactions, and industry sub-sectors across portfolio

+ Build and use financial models to incorporate the impact of forward-looking risk assessment on key value drivers

+ Formulate agendas for, and participate in, client due diligence meetings

+ Prepare credit approval materials for new transactions as well as required periodic reviews

+ Provide well-researched and thoughtful risk assessment of each assigned client on an ongoing basis. Ensuring that risk ratings are accurate and reflect a current forward-looking view of the client risk profile

+ Prepare and present annual portfolio review material to senior management

+ Work closely with Credit Services to ensure accuracy of credit system data

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

+ BA/BS degree required

+ Completion of a major corporate bank credit training program or equivalent experience

+ Typically a minimum of 3 years of commercial / corporate banking / lending experience including extensive credit, structuring, and marketing experience

+ Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including strong computing and financial modeling skills

+ Independently productive; able to operate at a highly effective level with minimal day-to-day managerial direction

+ Successfully operate within in a deal team dynamic

+ Strong work ethic with an ability to meet deadlines while multi-tasking

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

+ Knowledge of credit and JPMC (or similar bank) policies and procedures

+ Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with senior underwriters, clients, bankers, product partners, and senior management facilitating successful achievement of goals

+ Excel/PowerPoint/MS Office knowledge

+ Knowledge of insurance statutory accounting or experience in the insurance industry is a plus

+ MBA degree is a plus
