Position Responsibilities Senior Cost Accountant
Medela is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant who has standard costing experience in the manufacturing industry. This position will be the bridge between production and finance.
- Good understanding of manufacturing Standard Costing process and dependencies of other production controlling activities
- Monthly reporting & analysis of variances against standard
- Shop floor controlling - Ensure accuracy of systematic and physical processes, identify process improvement opportunities, and implement the solutions
- Maintenance and monitoring of operations controlling policies and procedures. Specifically, inventory controls: cycle counts, scrap transactions, product work orders and PO receipts. Make recommendations for improvements.
- Perform Key User responsibilities for Operations Finance FICO
- Support PPV analysis locally
Operations Partnership-
- Provide financial support (including analytical and decision support) to Operations Teams purchasing, manufacturing, material handling, service center and distribution
- Maintain and further enhance operations KPI dashboards
- Ensure alignment between operational KPIs & monthly financial results
- Provide periodic operations and finance management reporting
- Ad hoc & Periodic Analyses
- Support Make vs. Buy Decisions
- Develop and maintain Total Cost of Ownership Reporting & On-going Analytics
- Support and maintain Global Standard Costing System
- Support Operations Efficiency Projects
- Capital Investment project support payback and ROI
Education/Experience Requirements Senior Cost Accountant
- Bachelors degree in accounting or a related field preferred
- Minimum three years experience in a manufacturing cost accounting role
- Standard costing experience
- SAP FICO experience preferred
- Experience with SAP BW and PowerBI preferred
- Experience working in an environment with global matrixed organization preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
