Responsible for supporting the adoption of transformational change by designing, teaching, and coaching an agile mindset. Serves as thought leader for best practices, methods, tools and measures of success / assessment criteria. Instills a culture of continuous improvement to enhance performance, quality and Agile maturity of teams to achieve effective value delivery. Coaches teams, scrum masters and Product Owners to drive capabilities within the Northern Trust Asset Management organization. This role combines a deep understanding of SAFe principles, Azure DevOps Boards configuration, and training expertise to drive collaboration, transparency, and efficiency at the Portfolio, ART, and Team levels.
Major Duties:
• Facilitates the adoption, implementation and sustainability of Agile/DevOps framework, principles, and practices.
• Guides teams in the implementation of the following items in ADO boards: Initiative/Epic/Feature roadmap, sprint planning, user stories, work item creation, intake process templates, and managing cross-team dependencies.
• Facilitate PI (Planning Increment) planning, inspect and adapt workshops, and other key ART events to ensure alignment and coordinated delivery.
• Provide strategic guidance for developing and improving program and portfolio prioritization, value stream delivery, and outcome measurement.
• Coaches teams in the creation of portfolio and initiative dashboards as well as team dashboards in ADO.
• Actively fosters a culture of learning to improve our standards/methodologies, and creates and conducts training and workshops to advance Agile maturity in the organization, with a particular focus on maturing the Product Owner role.
• Enables high performance culture and builds strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organization anchored on trust, respect, accountability, and recognition.
• Contributions to communities of practice and collaborates with departmental Agile champions to mature organizational agility.
Required Skills/Qualification:
• Minimum 5-7 years in Agile Software Delivery, with at least 3+ years as an Agile Coach and/or RTE at a medium- to large-sized organization
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps (ADO) Boards is required; experience with Confluence and AgilityHealth is preferred
• Strong experience facilitating and training individuals on Agile values, principles and best practices, Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, Lean, etc.
• Highly flexible and adaptable, a problem solver who embraces ambiguity and responds positively to change
• High energy and collaborative team player who leverages all communication tools effectively
• Familiar with Investment / Asset Management and/or Financial Services
