From 2021 to 2023, WPS Health Solutions was recognized for several awards: Role Summary: This position can be filled at the Senior level OR higher Specialist level of our Policy Research Analyst position. Our Senior Policy Research Analyst will work within our Government Healthcare Administration line of business on a small, specialized team. They will utilize available medical information to conduct analysis, investigate healthcare, and research literature to provide written summaries of evidence. They will also actively participate with our Contractor Medical Directors (CMDs) in the development of Medicare policy. How do I know this opportunity is right for me? If you: Like performing medical research and doing critical analysis of medical literature on various topics. Have an analytical mindset and enjoy taking a deep dive into data and researching best practices. Possess excellent written and verbal communications skillsets. Are interested in performing work independently while still being part of a larger team. Utilize excellent writing skills to summarize the research analysis conducted and grade the quality of the evidence reviewed and strength of its recommendations. Assist Contract Medical Directors (CMD) in development of healthcare policies. Enjoy communicating with external stakeholders and workgroup members related to medical policy development. Can respond to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) mandates from federal government as they relate to healthcare and policy. Can update and maintain knowledge of current medical practices related to Medicare Coverage. Specialist Level: Conduct statistical analysis, coordinate reports, and prepare reports that support research based clinical coverage guidelines. Provide project support during the development of written policy backed by clinical research. What will I gain from this role? Developing a deeper understanding of written policy related to Medicare coverage. Having your voice heard and making an impact in the Medicare world. Assisting with development, maintaining, and researching Medicare Coverage that protects the Medicare Trust Fund while providing services medically necessary to beneficiaries. Experience working in an environment that serves our nation's military, veterans, Guard and Reserves, and Medicare beneficiaries. Working in a continuous performance feedback environment. You need to have: Masters of Public Heath (MPH) or Masters of Public Administration (MPA) or Bachelors in Research Analysis or equivalent work experience. Senior Level: 1 or more years of medical research analysis experience. Specialist Level: 2 or more years of medical research analysis experience. We also prefer: Senior Level: 2 or more years of medical research analysis experience. Experience working within the medical insurance industry. Experience bringing innovative ideas to fruition for process improvement. Specialist Level: 5 or more years of medical research analysis experience. Direct work with CMS, or Medicare systems and policies. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Experience with research tools, applications and literature databases.
