THE POSITION
Electrical Engineer - Controls Automation, Continental Tire The Americas, LLC, Mount Vernon, IL:
Responsible for installation, integration, and troubleshooting of Continental’s Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), provide 24/7 plant support. Provide specialized controls troubleshooting support for hardware and software. Coordinate training department on new systems/features implemented on machines and conduct training for maintenance team. Coordinate, implement, validate, and document hardware and software changes to the control systems in accordance with the change management procedure. Coordinate and support local and central project team for machine install projects in all acceptance phases, ensuring function and electrical specifications of new machines. Analyze data from machines to find bugs in the software and implement patches. Plan and execute projects to upgrade legacy equipment, while collaborating with local and central resources and contractors to ensure timelines and budget are met. Backup, protect, and maintain the software of control systems. Create training documents on machine functions to support new features implemented. Present weekly updates on current projects to team and management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field plus 2 years of related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have experience in each of the following:
• 2 years of experience using Siemens Step7 and TIA Portal to program and troubleshoot PLC programs;
• 2 years of experience using Siemens safety I/O to troubleshoot and commission;
• 2 years of experience using networking protocols, including TCP/IP, PROFINET and PROFIBUS;
• 2 years of experience working as an automation engineer, electrical engineer, or software engineer in a manufacturing facility;
• 1 year of experience using SINAMICS S120 Drives to control motors on production machines;
• 1 year of experience integrating and troubleshooting Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES);
• 1 year of experience using OPC communication (DA and UA);
• 1 year of experience using Acronis Backup; and
• 1 year of experience using Version Dog.
