Job Description
TITLE: Associate I - Broking – Assistant Vice President

DUTIES: Develop and maintain crop predictive model using statistical techniques to forecast client's loss ratios by state. Conduct data-driven research and analyses to assist with reinsurance program renewals and provide brokers with actionable insights for negotiations. Research and evaluate new agriculture insurance products, including livestock and dairy insurance, in order to establish accurate reinsurance pricing. Keep up-to-date with developments in agriculture insurance and reinsurance industry, including emerging risks and regulatory changes. Assist in updating in-house portfolio management tool and optimize client's book of business based on state and county desirability. Help optimize fund designation decisions for clients using producer's historical experience coupled with data from Risk Management Agency (RMA)/National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). Provide support to senior analysts to update the in-house stochastic and deterministic MPCI reinsurance pricing models. Present clear and easy-to-understand explanations of the analytics results and model outputs to insurers and reinsurers. Assist clients in developing hedging strategies for the different products they offer. Collaborate and build relationships with client actuaries and reinsurance underwriters.
REQTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mathematics, or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in the offered role, as an Associate Broker, Risk Analyst, or in a related position. Three (3) years of experience must include: Working in the agriculture insurance sector with Multiple Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI), private products insurance, and the Standard Reinsurance Agreement (SRA); Working with MPCI data from the Risk Management Agency (RMA) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA); Working with crop hail data from the National Crop Insurance Services (NCIS); Working in developing and maintaining crop pricing and predictive models; and Developing sophisticated workflows using Alteryx Designer for data preparation, manipulation, and analysis, leveraging best practices and optimization techniques.
HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
