Job Description

MANAGER, MARKET AND BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE – Abbott Rapid Dx North America LLC, an Abbott Labs Co. / Lake Forest, IL

Develop and maintain market models for assigned segments with in-depth analysis of market size, growth and share performance at country, region, and product levels. Design and develop reporting solutions for market information by retrieving and aggregating market data from primary and secondary sources into digestible and actionable formats for strategic direction and tactical planning.  Identify and monitor key market trends, work with Marketing, Health Economics & Outcome Research (HEOR), Finance, and Product Management to ensure all anticipated market shifts are reflected in market models. Track performance metrics and competitive pressures by analyzing data from multiple internal and external data sources from different vendors. Utilize market data, research, and field intelligence to identify customer needs and translate data into market opportunities. Utilize Excel, Tableau, Power BI and/or QlikView to consolidate market research data, analyses, and insights into marketing recommendations that drive business objectives. Lead, design and develop automated reporting solutions for market information, by retrieving and aggregating market data from multiple primary and secondary sources into a digestible and actionable format, to enable stakeholders to make more effective decisions. Develop models for forecasting revenues based on monthly sales, share, and market data. Collect, interpret, and disseminate competitive intelligence for assigned segments, in concert with Divisional Competitive Intelligence colleagues; synthesize information from multiple sources to generate insights. Support wargames and scenario planning activities. Lead integration of market and competitive information into monthly sales and operational planning processes by providing data on market outlook, competitive dynamics, and explanation of drivers and levers of observed market conditions. Play an intricate part in Plan, Update and Long-Range Planning (LRP) to support market, share and sales forecasts through market modeling, share projections and competitive assessments. Develop and manage relationships with key vendors and suppliers. Interface with a variety of management levels on significant matters, often requiring the coordination of activities across organizational units. Consult business stakeholders, vendors, and internal customers and managing multiple market research projects affecting key business decisions. Participate in the development of others by facilitating training and providing feedback and guidance. Acts as a mentor to Global Marketing team on market intelligence topics. Plan and organize project assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Initiates or maintains projects and projects milestones. Selects methods and techniques to lead a project to completion. Manage P&L responsibilities for market research, develop annual budgets, track performance against budget monthly, and negotiate for additional funding as needed.

Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Market Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems, or in a related quantitative or business field of study with at least 4 years of professional experience in: (i) designing and developing reporting solutions for market information by retrieving and aggregating market data from primary and secondary sources into digestible and actionable formats for strategic direction and tactical planning; (ii) tracking performance metrics and competitive pressures by analyzing data from multiple internal and external data sources from different vendors; (iii) utilizing market data, research, and field intelligence to identify customer needs and translate data into market opportunities; (iv) utilizing Excel, Tableau, Power BI or Qlikview; (v) consolidating market research data, analyses, and insights into marketing recommendations that drive business objectives; and (vi) consulting business stakeholders, vendors, and internal customers and managing multiple market research projects affecting key business decisions.
