Description

1. Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and financial operations including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, grant report entry, and bank reconciliations.

2. Processing grants, performing grant accounting functions

3. Prepare and manage monthly closing of financial books, monthly management financial reports and bi-monthly payroll.

4. Manage the creation and submission of all required federal and state filings, especially with regards to employment and tax forms. 5. Provide regular reconciliation of all accounts; verify transactions and fund changes; resolve any discrepancies or irregularities. 6. Collaborate with outside charity auditors, providing necessary information for annual audit. 7. Maintain the integrity of accounting system, financial files and records. 8. Provide financial information necessary for the preparation of annual budget. 9. Other related financial and administrative duties as assigned. Requirements

1. Bachelor’s or associate degree in accounting, finance or business administration – preferred, not required

2. Prior bookkeeping experience, preferably within a nonprofit context. 3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and experience with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks. 4. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and legislation. 5. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines. 6. Excellent organizational skills, capacity to manage multiple tasks and attention to detail. 7. Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
