During this twelve-week EHS internship, you will work under the direction and guidance of experienced EHS professionals and have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with other departments such as Operations, Engineering, Quality, & Supply Chain to support the site’s EHS program. The EHS Intern will be responsible for completing projects as directed on specific programs such as equipment safety, chemical safety, ergonomics, and training & education. The internship will commence on or around May 20, 2024 and will be 100% on-site.

This internship is located at our manufacturing facility in Richmond, IL. You will be a part of the site EHS team and report to the site Environmental, Health and Safety Manager, responsible for the facility’s overall EHS program performance. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

+ Assist in the development, implementation, and sustainment of site-specific EHS programs that comply with local, state, and federal regulations and internal company policies.

+ Assist in the preparation and submission of reports as required by federal, state, and local agencies, and internal company policies.

+ Coordinate and schedule EHS training & monthly safety committee meetings

+ Understand and maintain all EHS records and other documentation as required by corporate and regulatory agency standards.

+ Learn and coordinate the purchase and maintain inventory of department supplies, and ensure timely payment of invoices.

+ Coordinate safety-related events and engagement activities throughout the internship.

The essential requirements of the job include:

+ Must be enrolled in an Associate, Bachelor or Masters degree program in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field

+ Basic knowledge of OSHA programs, EPA regulations, and industrial hygiene practices

+ Ability to work 40 hours per week during summer months

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

+ Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously with demonstrated proficiency in time and project management

+ Strong Microsoft Office Skills – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.
