Job Description

Engineering Manager II for HERE North America, LLC to lead a team to build and manage several software services and be responsible for meeting performance and uptime requirements; perform software engineering, including building, testing and release stages, and work closely with other teams to ensure accuracy of data and reports using SQL and Tableau; use design and architecture principles, including HTTP, REST principles, and Microservices, to develop software work; with product managers and engineering leadership ensure that assessments satisfy customers’ requirements and provide valuable insights; build best-in-class services that enable HERE KPI metrices for next generation maps and customer products; develop and deliver Ground Truth Assessment and Product Quality metrics; define and develop features and technical tasks autonomously, supporting colleagues with technical challenges, working with product management to analyze requirements, and communicating to technical and non-technical stakeholders; design applications using programming languages, including Java, Python, and Shell; enable machine learning using Spark or another middleware technology; design, implement, and document solutions as well as test and review work product; oversee full lifecycle development and be integrally involved in the design and architecture decisions; develop and use containerization using Docker; provide technical leadership and make critical technical contributions; establish and institutionalize organization standards, processes, and procedures; automate tasks in testing, delivery, and monitoring phases; track application delivery using Cl/CD tools, including Git, GitLab/Jenkins, Artifactory, and Maven; manage resource allocation, identify staffing shortages, conduct organization planning and development; manage work using JIRA project management tool; guide, mentor, and challenge team members to help them achieve their potential through personal growth; support the Scrum team in analyzing operational trends and improvements; and act as a subject matter expert with stakeholders at all levels.  Requires: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus eight (8) years of software engineering experience, including building, testing and release stages or, alternatively, a Master's degree and six (6) years of experience as noted above. Specific skills/other requirements - Experience must include (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): design and architecture principles, including HTTP, REST principles, and Microservices; programming languages, including Java, Python, and Shell; Spark or another middleware technology; Containerization tools including Docker; Cl/CD tools, including Git, GitLab/Jenkins, Artifactory, and Maven; Data visualization with SQL and Tableau; JIRA project management tool; and people management.
