Job Description

Duties: Rush University Medical Center seeks a Senior Financial Analyst in Chicago, IL to develop solutions to financial problems and assess financial impact of transactions for charge capture, reconciliations, analysis, and notifying revenue cycle of new services. Prepare and analyze quarterly off-campus location reports for dissemination to administrators, finance, and leaders. Reconcile charge activity with scheduled patient volumes and procedure volumes. Prepare departmental budgets, identify opportunities, and recommend implementation of process changes to support greater efficiency in budget creation and tracking. Meet with revenue cycle business partners to review metrics and identify areas for improvement. Track monthly performance and financial data in executive dashboard. Create, coordinate preparation, and submit financial reports and other analysis reports. Collect and analyze data and coordinate reporting of key financial and operational metrics, including new visits, ancillary testing and procedures, physician referrals, productivity, and access. Analyze new opportunities and relocations in consideration of business objectives, space, and capital requirements and ROI projections. Work with internal stakeholders to analyze financial impact of new service proposals. Coordinate charge set up for new providers, new services and new revenue locations with revenue cycle, IT, and other aligned stakeholders. Review actual vs. budget performance and assist with budget variance explanations. Ensure alignment of department revenues and expenses within correct accounting unit. Utilize EPIC transactional cube, Axiom and Link reporting, functionality, and analytics. Telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. permitted up to 5 days per week. Minimum Requirements: Position requires Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Accounting, Finance or a related field plus 4 years of experience as a financial analyst. 4 years of experience must include 1 year with each of the following: (1) working in healthcare finance or healthcare operations; (2) Axiom; (3) electronic medical record system, including Epic or Axxess, and its reporting functionality; (4) developing ad-hoc reports on productivity, financial variances, and operational metrics; (5) preparation of budgets and reviewing actual vs. budget performance; and (6) analyzing new opportunities for ROI projections.
