TITLE: Sr. Developer, Store Systems – POS
HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
DUTIES: POS Development - Lead the design and development of enterprise-wide vendor and proprietary solutions predominantly in the Oracle Xstore spectrum (Xstore & Xcenter). You’ll be a hands-on Java developer in the Micros Retail’s Xstore extension layer developing for the timely resolution of production bugs and capital enhancement requests. Identify, manage, and track issues that arise, and remediate them through a collaborative approach. Write well designed, testable, and efficient code.
Delivery Leadership - Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle and prepare releases of software components. Responsible for the overall design, architecture, and documentation of retail systems, focused exclusively on point of sale/payments and its back-end integrations with SAP Retail.
Solution Development – Lead discussions with internal business partners to identify needs and translate business requirements into detail functional specifications and technical solutions. Work with our vendor partners on production enhancements/defects. Identify, manage, and track issues that arise, and remediate them through a collaborative approach.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering (any), or related.
Five (5) years in any occupation in which software development or related experience is gained must include: Three (3) years of Java application development experience. Experience must also include: Team management experience of midsize in house and augmented/outsourced software teams; Working in an enterprise development team environment; Eclipse, configuration management (Bitbucket), and defect tracking tools (Jira); SQL development; Experience effectively conveying complicated technical information to stake holders; Experience proposing and evaluating technical solution alternatives, assessing the pros and cons of each approach; and Retail POS processes, including customer facing (sales & returns management) and payment processing within PCI regulations.
