We are looking for someone who has excellent time management, organization and prioritization skills, and must adapt efficiently and quickly to change in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Statutory Reporting – Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual statutory filings, accurately and efficiently meeting all deadlines. Responsible for requesting organizing, compiling, and tracking information from numerous sources throughout the company required for annual and quarterly reporting for 3-4 legal entities.

+ For all NAIC filings, this individual will be accountable for less complex schedules, exhibits and Notes, but will be assigned more complex ones as knowledge of company operations and industry is acquired.

+ For those, complete, consolidate data, review for reasonableness and comparability, and reconcile information received to key exhibits, schedules, supplemental schedules, and financial Notes, review for reasonableness between reporting periods, and work with sources to resolve inconsistencies. Responsible for FIJE maintenance and system administration of WINGS filing software.

+ Enter data into Sovos filing software, via upload or manual entry.

+ Review and resolve any crosscheck errors within the filings for assigned schedules and exhibits and resolve them.

+ Identify, initiate, test and implement process improvements to make them more efficient. Prepare and critically review accounting entries for insurance entities.

+ Audited Financial Statements – Responsible for TIC, TML and TLICNY insurance legal entity audited reports.

+ Compile data, ensure completeness and accuracy, that detailed documents support the reports, and maintain support received from business units and Corporate in the audit binders.

+ Review Non reconcilable information for reasonableness, and work with sources to resolve discrepancies.

+ Surveys – Accountable for timeliness and accuracy in preparation of several annual and quarterly AMBEST, ACLI and other industry associations’ information requests and data surveys for 3-4 insurance legal entities.

+ Variance Analyses – Prepare and ensure accuracy, completeness and clarity of quarterly and annual statutory financial statement line-by-line analyses for 3 legal entities which identify significant, unusual or unreasonable variances, and are used as a basis for Board of Directors presentations.

+ Critically review responses and work with responsible parties to obtain necessary subsequent information, clarification, or make corrections.

+ Collaborate with Compliance to ensure all filings are identified and prepared.

+ Prepare and critically review assigned journal entries for noninsurance entities. Assist Associate Director with certain noninsurance tasks.

+ Assist with other duties as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Bachelor of Science, Accounting or Finance degree and/or a minimum of 2 years of GAAP or statutory accounting and reporting experience

+ Microsoft Excel skills (intermediate to advanced – ex. VLOOKUP and other formula functions, filtering and grouping data, etc.)

+ Excellent time management, prioritization, analytical, problem solving, organization and adaptability skills

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability to work with and service all levels of Corporate and business unit management and their teams

+ Ability to resolve issues independently
