Luminator is seeking to fill our full-time Field Service Technician role to join our growing and dynamic Field Operations team where you will be an integral part of the team by providing valuable input as we work toward assessing and implementing goals and mission of the department and Luminator. The successful Field Service Technician candidate will be part of a team working to expand a strong and proven concept that has solid growth potential, with the opportunity to create substantial shareholder value. You will be responsible for conducting customer service visits, documentation, day-to-day repair, and preventative maintenance for various transit agencies and clients. You will identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, work with manufacturers, or field personnel as necessary to procure replacement parts. Why Work at Luminator? + Ability to comfortably manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

+ Ability to troubleshoot basic electronic operations and make sound technical decisions.

+ Must be able to calmly work with customers during demanding situations.

+ Must be able to work daytime and nighttime hours as required by the work. Intermittent domestic travel (up to 25% as required) for warranty and non-warranty repair work, retrofits, startups, and troubleshooting.

+ Demonstrated success self-managing assigned work

+ Familiarity with automotive wiring – DC, low voltage, etc.

+ Demonstrated ability to read and understand schematics and wiring diagrams

+ Expertise with electrical systems, use of voltmeter and other tools

+ Skilled in testing and recording voltages

+ Perform work using small tools or hand tools

+ Other job duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: The Field Service Technician will be an experienced, operationally oriented professional who can successfully lead as a very hands-on Field Service Technician to scale for additional growth and maximize potential. This professional will possess:

+ Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

+ Knowledge of business principles involved in strategic planning, repair techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

+ Knowledge of policies, procedures, and transit systems.

+ Knowledge of MathWorks, Autodesk AutoCAD, Miscrosoft Visual Basic, and SCADA software.

+ Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

+ Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

+ Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.

+ Talking to others to convey information effectively.

+ Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

+ Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.

+ Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.

+ Technical and business knowledge including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Prior experience with ERP environments and planning in database tools preferred.

+ 2-4 years technical experience required.

+ HS diploma or equivalent required

+ AS degree; A+ certification preferred.

+ Ability to work efficiently and accurately with details and fluctuating work volumes.

LOCATION: Plano is a city in the state of Texas, just north of downtown Dallas. It is a hub for many corporate headquarters and has been rated by Forbes as the safest city in 2011. Plano has many visitors, 80% of which are business travelers. The Preston Road area is home to major corporate headquarters of Fortune 1000 companies which have brought thousands of jobs to the area. Plano has two major space reserves: Arbor Hills Nature Preserve (200 acres) and Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve (800 acres).
