Duties and Responsibilities 
 1. Provides psychiatric and medication evaluation for students.
2. Provides on-going medication monitoring for students.
3. Consults with Wellness Center staff in conjunction with prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications, and psychiatric evaluations.
4. Provides on-going psychotherapy when needed.
5. Provides walk-in coverage when needed.
6. Provides back-up for 24 hour on-call therapists and leadership team members
7. Provides consultation and training to student clinicians.
8. Attends and participates in team meetings to provide recommendations for students seeking treatment
9. Consults with parents, physicians, faculty, staff/administrators, other community treatment providers, and students when appropriate.
10. Provides community preventative interventions through liaison and outreach activities.
11. Serves on Division of Student Development and Wellness Center committees
12. Attends and participates in regular staff meetings and case conferences.
13. Keeps regular records, necessary statistics, and performs other duties as assigned.
14. Participates in approximately three weeks per year of after hours on-call backup phone rotation on evenings and weekends.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience 
 For Psychiatrist:
1. Graduate of an approved accredited medical school.
2. Completion of an approved residency in Psychiatry.
3. Board Certified in general psychiatry.
4. Current licensure in the State of Illinois for MD including DEA license.

For Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:
5. Current State of Illinois RN, APN, and DEA licensure required.
6. Masters or Doctoral Degree in Nursing required.
7. Graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner educational program.
8. Minimum of 2000 hours of clinical practice in psychiatric-mental health nursing within the last 3 years.
9. Nurse Practitioner Certification from a National certifying body required.
10. Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification required.
11. CPR certification required.
Qualifications 
 - Completion of approved training program in psychiatry or advanced practice psychiatric nursing and proficiency in up-to-date pharmacologic interventions.
- Ability to reduce barriers to mental health care in a multicultural environment to provide assessment and clinical care for a diverse patient population.
- Ability to communicate effectively as consultant to multidisciplinary healthcare team as well as to key stakeholders in broader campus community.
- Experience with and knowledge of critical developmental issues in emerging adult/university student population.
- Previous college or university Wellness/Counseling Center experience is preferred.
Certificates/Credentials/Licenses 
 For Psychiatrist:

 - Ability to learn and use electronic medical record system.
