Job Summary

Compass Group, the world’s largest contract foodservice company, has a great opportunity at our Compass Creative Studio as a Creative Project Manager to support our sector, Levy, sales team’s efforts.

As a Creative Project Manager, you will project handle all aspects of the development and delivery of a variety of creative deliverables in support of our Sales team including proposals, presentations and other print and digital collateral items as needed. Creative Project Managers must have excellent organizational skills and be able to ensure all requirements for each project are being met. This is a highly visible role that helps our sales team bring together subject matter experts from all levels within the company. They supply to the overall strategy of a sales pursuit by pushing the level of creativity that goes into each project. This role is located in Chicago, IL and reporting into the office on a hybrid work schedule.

Typical responsibilities include:

+ Coordinating the creative development process and content strategy of multiple deadline-driven sales deliverables including digital and print proposals, presentations and collateral materials.

+ Reviewing all documentation for a project including Request for Proposals (RFPs) or Sales outlines to ensure all requirements are met while creating our response deliverables. RFP knowledge/experience a plus.

+ Planning, advising and supervising the development of each project deliverable from start to completion.

+ Collaborating with project team members both on the Creative Team, including Graphic Designers and Editors, and from across the company, such as Sales, Marketing and Operations to gathering all content needed and oversee the accurate completion of each deliverable.

+ Following team processes for implementing timelines, keeping projects on track and making sure deadlines are not missed.

+ Providing support for assignments given to project team members or subject matter experts as needed.

+ Locating, gathering and organizing of responses and content for sales materials.

+ Writing proposal responses as needed in conjunction with project team members and content specialists.

+ Communicating project timeline and status updates with all key collaborators

+ In collaboration with an assigned designer, ensuring consistent design integrity, from initial design to final implementation for all deliverables.

+ Taking primary responsibility to review the quality of submitted content including all images and written copy.

+ As needed, sourcing content and high-res imagery that is in alignment with each project’s strategy and design

+ Assisting with and completing last minute changes to project deliverables. InDesign experience a plus.

+ Participating in creative brainstorming sessions for project deliverables and staying current on industry-related design trends for multiple deliverable types such as document design for print and digital, production and packaging options, presentations both virtual and in-person, website design, video editing styles, etc.

+ Assisting in the development and optimization of team workflow processes related to role, design and production.

Required Skills:

+ 3+ years of project management experience.

+ Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred.

+ Exceptional organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple, complex projects simultaneously.

+ Experience in sales and strategy for RFP proposal responses and/or presentation development experience an advantage.

+ Ability to use both Macs and PCs – understanding cross-utilizations/limitations.

+ Proficient in Acrobat Pro and the full Microsoft Office Suite. Adobe InDesign and additional Adobe Creative Suite program knowledge a plus.

+ Strong knowledge of grammar and proofing capabilities. Copywriting skills a plus.

+ Self-motivated and proactive with critical thinking, overcoming obstacles and resourcefulness to drive project success.

+ Ability to communicate clearly with team members and colleagues during meetings that are via-phone, virtual and in-person. Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

+ Able to successfully adapt to and work with all personality types, successfully building cross-departmental relationships.

+ Timeline, work flow and schedule management proficiencies in order to meet strict and sometimes fast-pasted deadlines with consistent quality performance – never missing a deadline.

+ Event/presentation coordination skills a plus.

+ Works quickly and efficiently alone or with a team, with focus and a keen attention to detail.

+ Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and follow direction from supervisory positions and cross-department team members to complete projects.

+ A passion for sports, entertainment and/or restaurant industry desired.

+ Willing to travel as-needed for meetings and presentations.
