Sales Executive, Renewables Advisory Services

Job Description

UL is currently seeking a technical Sales Executive to grow our advisory business in North America (US and Canada). As a member of the sales team, you will be responsible to present, introduce and market UL’s renewable advisory capabilities in North America (US and Canada) including wind and energy resource assessments, asset advisory and due diligence services.

The role can be remote in the US.

+ Sell UL’s renewables advisory services portfolio, including energy advisory and yield assessments, feasibility studies, Independent Engineering reports and asset advisory to renewable developers, utilities, operators, lenders and investors.

+ Identify prospective new customers and work with technical leads to establish positive business relationships with them.

+ Participate of proposals detailing a clearly defined scope and understanding of client required deliverables and establish a corresponding budget that satisfies the clients’ expectations

+ Introduce and present the different portfolio product offering to potential customers as well as follow up with them with the goal to close sales.

+ Maintains ongoing plan to prioritize portfolio of accounts and maintain relationships throughout the year, identifying opportunities.

+ Uses technical credibility to build relationships with buyers and centers of influence

+ Brings in additional technical resources (e.g., engineers) when needed to support advisory sales opportunities

+ Coordinate with sales and marketing teams the daily sales activities.

+ Collaborate with counterparts in other segments to identify and exploit synergies from existing clients. Establish regular channels of communication.

+ Represent company at tradeshows, technical conferences and workshops, and business development meetings

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Customer facing experience

+ Strong technical background with ability to understand renewables technical risks

+ Minimum 5 years of experience working in the renewables industry understanding renewables project lifecycle, market drivers and technical challenges in the wind/solar energy sector

+ Exposure and/or understanding in project financing and M&A transactions

+ Business acumen and deep understanding of business sales processes

+ Work effectively with colleagues to ensure timely delivery of high quality proposals

+ Ability to work effectively across multiple departments in a deadline-driven environment

+ Active team player, self-starter, and multitasker who can quickly adjust priorities

+ Ability to maintain good relationships with clients

+ Self-starter with ability to schedule and prioritize tasks and commitments

+ Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), and CRM software

+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple technical projects and offer sound technical guidance in a fast paced, pressured environment

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Pre-existing network within developers, sponsors and lenders in the US market.

+ Good understanding of renewables software and digital applications

+ Total Rewards: The target annual pay range for this position is $105,000 – $131,250 which includes a base salary of $60,000-$75,000 and 100% on target performance. Members of the sales function are eligible to participate in the UL Solutions Sales Incentive Plan. The annual target incentive for this position is 75% of the base salary, paid quarterly, and is contingent upon performance. Employees are eligible for health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental & financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country, for the relevant position level.??We also provide employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).?
