Cyber Security Professional

Coilcraft is a successful, privately-held company in Cary, IL with a worldwide reputation for high-quality passive electronic components. Coilcraft operates in various industries, including telecommunications, computers, automotive, broadband communications, and consumer electronics. We are seeking a Cyber Security Professional to join our IT team

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct comprehensive security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and assess risks.
  • Develop and implement robust security measures and protocols to protect against cyber threats.
  • Monitor and analyze security alerts and incidents, and respond promptly to mitigate potential risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement security solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, and recommend proactive measures to enhance security posture.
  • Provide guidance and support to clients on security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and remediation of security incidents.
  • Contribute to the development of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and documentation.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Professional information security certification preferred, such as:
    • CompTIA Security+
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
    • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  • Proven experience in conducting security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, encryption algorithms, and security technologies.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, etc.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and act tactically.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, etc.
  • Familiarity with cloud security principles and practices is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the cybersecurity field.
