Description:

The Surgical Assistant provides technical assistance, under the direct supervision of the surgeon to assist in carrying out an operation with optimal results for the patient. Clinical skills performed will include positioning the patient, preparing the skin and providing visualization of the operative site. Assists with hemostasis, closure of body planes and selection and application of dressings and splints.

Position Requirements :

Minimum Education: Required: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education

Preferred: Associates Degree Specify Degree(s): Surgical Assist

Minimum Experience:

Required: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience

Licensure/Certifications:

Required: CPR – Basic Life Support

Preferred: Certified in Surgical Assistant.
