JOB TITLE: Maintenance Mechanic 2nd Shift

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 4:00 pm to 2:30 am

PAY: $25.00 - $34.00 per hour

JOB PURPOSE: Maintains production equipment and quality of production by ensuring proper operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTONS:

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Use blueprints or manufacturers’ manuals to determine correct installation or operation of machinery.
  • Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines and equipment.
  • Performs visual and mechanical inspections required to keep machinery in good condition to produce a finished quality product to order specifications.
  • Disassemble, repair, or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment.
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing or repairs.
  • Clean, lubricate equipment, parts, or tools to repair or maintain them in good working order.
  • Design and fabricate replacement parts for machine or equipment.
  • Gain knowledge of the machine, products and processes required to fulfill production needs.
  • Record information about parts, materials, or repair procedures on tablets.
  • Seek to improve own skill level by participating in training programs and attending technical seminars.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, preventative maintenance, and maintenance requests.
  • Examine, repair, and maintain and replace defective parts machines and equipment.
  • Trouble shooting electrical problems on a variety of industrial hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Effectively interpret schematics and diagrams to analyze and troubleshoot problems for products.
  • Inspects and checks work prior to turning machinery back to users, assuring that all safety factors have been attended to in compliance with applicable safety regulations.
  • Maintain quality and quantity with strong sense of accountability and high standards.
  • Conform to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing requested tasks as needed.
  • Other duties assigned by lead or manager.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL CRITERIA REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work under pressure and occasional stressful conditions.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to changing priorities, deadlines, demands and assignments while maintaining cohesive and harmonious working relationships.
  • Must be able to research information to resolve problems; identify issues requiring further attention; corrections and/or make recommendations; then take preventive actions; process facts and apply judgments; communicate with others to provide or obtain information.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with loud noises, heat, cold and strong odors.
  • Perform receptive key stokes to compile and prepare documents, reports, forms, and correspondence.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for 8 - 10 hours.
  • Some heavy lifting required, up to 50 lbs.
  • Push/Pull; use both hands to package product, repetitive work.
  • Ability to perform repetitive manual material handling without restriction, requiring (but not limited to) the following physical abilities:
    • Kneeling
    • Crouching
    • Reaching
    • Standing
    • Walking
    • Pushing
    • Pulling
    • Grasping

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Troubleshooting: Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
  • Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Computer skills: Knowledge of Microsoft word processing, excel and e-mail program. Ability to work with tablets.
  • Safety: working knowledge of safety rules, regulations, training.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions and numbering.
  • Must be able to calculate basic arithmetic, (i.e. add, subtract, multiply and divide).
  • Must be punctual and reliable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Six (6) years of experience in industrial maintenance experience or related field
  • Excellent mechanical skills with knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, and electrical theory.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Full time
  • Expected Hours = 40 per week
  • 10 hour shifts
    • Monday - Thursday
  • Evening Shift
    • 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM
  • Overtime

PAY:

  • $25.00 - 34.00 per hour
