ROLE SUMMARY

The Digital Health Lead (Director) plays a pivotal role in closing care gaps through digital innovation. This individual works within global medical affairs and is coordinating project-based End-to-End strategic development and implementation of scalable Digital Health Solutions (e.g., Software as a Medical Device) in close collaboration with therapeutic areas &, Global Digital, Legal / Compliance, commercial / CMO, R&D, further functions and external partners.

The role demands a blend of scientific background, digital project experience, and matrix leadership skills to navigate a dynamic landscape of digital projects a newly established governance model within Pfizer. The responsibility of the incumbent is to lead specific phases and task of the development within a matrix team from Target Digital Product to Clinical Development to life cycle management of a digital health solution. The overall goal of this role is to the project management within a matrix team of digital health solutions product developments from end to end that enhance patient outcomes, improve healthcare delivery, and align with Pfizer’s mission to change patients’ life.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Assume project management responsibilities within a matrix team of digital health solution development

+ Help to establish specific elements, e.g. evaluation methods or digital endpoints within a new governance model around the development of digital health solution at Pfizer Inc

+ Collaborate with therapeutic areas and functions to analyze care gaps which may be addressed by digital health solutions from ideation to lifecycle management.

+ Assume digital health subject matter expertise for specific phases of development within a matrix of SMEs from different therapeutic areas and functions to contribute to robust development plans including adoption scenarios (peak user numbers), technical requirements analysis (external development vs. internal coding), medical risk & benefits analysis which are presented to senior leadership for discussion and funding decisions.

+ Develop evidence generation plans together with clinical and medical SMEs

+ Analyze and document input across key domains (Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, WRDM/GPD, Digital, TA, Safety, etc.) integrating each domain’s SME perspective in the digital health solutions product lifecycle

+ Provide expertise the integration of advanced technologies such as AI, machine learning, and IoT (internet of things) in healthcare solutions, ensuring they meet clinical needs.

+ Organize structured input, e.g. Adboards by key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and patient groups to gather insights on care gaps and foster partnerships to enable successful deployment (launch) of digital health therapies.

+ Recommend continuous improvement of development cycle and reduction of latency between decision points

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

+ Bachelors degree required and minimum of 10 years’ experience in the healthcare industry, with at least 3 years of main focus in the field of digital health; Masters/MBA and 9+ years; PharmD/PHD and 7+ years; MD and 4+ years

+ Demonstrated experience and results in project management of digital health solutions (min. 1 key experiences)

+ Track record in acting as digital health subject matter expert within matrix development teams in high-stakes digital health projects, e.g. within academic consortia, x-functional Pfizer teams

+ Previous exposure to governance / regulatory negotiations around digital health solutions

+ Ability to review evidence generation plans (2 key experiences)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

+ Business experience in the field of digital health solutions, e.g. venture capital negotiations, involvement in start-up formation in the field of digital health solutions

+ MD or PhD in a relevant biomedical field.

+ Strong stakeholder network in digital health, e.g. previous or active member in US/international societies and initiatives around digital health solutions

+ Launch experience with digital health solutions in for a clinical setting, e.g. patient facing tools.

+ Track record of being a recognized expert in the field of digital health solutions, e.g. scientific publications or public speeches on the topic.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $149,200.00 to $248,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
