As Sargent and Lundy’s CAD Technician you will be responsible for various CAD and engineering applications. Working with developers and project teams to implement and troubleshoot various project workspaces, installation deployments. The primary focus will be towards CAD and design applications but may include the support of various engineering applications. Your responsibilities will encompass, but not be limited to, the following:

+ Knowledge of CAD application configurations, these applications may include but is not limited to:

+ Autodesk AutoCAD

+ Autodesk Inventor

+ Autodesk Plant 3D

+ Bentley MicroStation

+ Bentley Open Building Designer

+ Direct support and troubleshooting to project teams on the various CAD / engineering applications.

+ Workspace configurations.

+ A knowledge of VBA and / or LISP is a plus.

+ Maintaining applications, this includes working with deployment teams to implement updates via SCCM.

+ A knowledge of deployments tools such is a plus

+ Work with end point administration and system administration groups to provide kiosk computer workstations, this may include physical desktop and virtual desktop implementations.

+ Occasional travel may be required to other S&L office locations or attend conferences.

This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid schedule with the expectation of 3 days per week in our downtown Chicago office, and 2 days remote from home.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

+ Associates degree or a minimum of 2-3 years related experience

+ Strong knowledge of CAD design software

+ Strong working knowledge of desktop operating system, Windows 10 and Windows 11.

+ Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting of general applications, and CAD and Engineering applications

+ Knowledge of VBA / LISP is a plus.

+ Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills

+ Knowledge in Microsoft Office a plus

+ Organize tasks and establish guidelines.

+ Self-motivated, capable of multitasking and be able to work well in a team environment
