Insurance and Actuarial Advisory Services – Senior – Property Casualty: This position could be located in NY, NC, GA, IL, MA, PA, VA.

The opportunity

Put simply, our actuarial advisers deliver creative and innovative thinking to high-profile Property Casualty Insurance companies worldwide, supporting them in making confident financial judgements in support of their business goals. Here, you will be an actuary right at the heart of that mission, leading engagement teams, working directly with clients, mentoring and developing team members and building your personal brand as a leader in your field.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior within the Insurance Actuarial Advisory Services (IAAS) Property Casualty (PC) Actuarial Advisory team, you will be challenged to participate on engagement teams focused on several of the following areas:

+ Ratemaking analytics and services

+ Actuarial process redesign and software integration

+ Predictive analytics

+ Data visualization

+ Market strategy advice

+ Reinsurance analysis and advice

+ Ad hoc financial reporting advice

Skills and attributes for success

+ Establish relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels. Consistently deliver quality client services.?

+ Monitor progress,?manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes. Stay abreast of current business, regulatory and industry trends relevant to the client’s business.?

+ Demonstrate in-depth technical actuarial capabilities and professional knowledge. Demonstrate ability to assimilate new knowledge. Possess good business acumen. Remain current on new developments in advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge.?

+ Commit to developing a strong personal brand by staying informed regarding economic/market developments and their impact on the firm’s clients. Continually progress towards attaining professional credentials from the Casualty Actuarial Society and/or other industry organizations.?

To qualify for the role, you must have:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, and/or other related major

+ Approximately 3+ years of experience in an actuarial-oriented position

+ Associate of Casualty Actuarial Society, (ACAS)or actively pursuing Associateship within the Casualty Actuarial Society with a minimum of 5 actuarial exams passed

+ 2 years of experience with Excel, SAS, VBA and /or C++ 2 years of experience with R, Python, or other relevant programming languages

+ Strong writing, presentation, conceptual, analytical, and interpersonal skills as evidenced by preparing and presenting results and/or findings to clients or senior management

+ Ability to understand and persuade on complex subjects both in writing and verbally

+ Experience working in a team environment on project-based work.

Ideally, you will also have:

+ Previous consulting experience or experience implementing new processes/procedures in a corporate environment.

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $100,400 to $184,100. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $120,500 to $209,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
