Job Description
Position Overview:
Our family-owned client company is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to join the team at their plant in the greater Joliet area. A successful Maintenance Technician is a solution-focused self-starter that can follow direction to effectively manage their production output in a safe and clean manner. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of all equipment and continuous improvement projects. They are seeking a candidate for both second and third shift.
+ Second shift runs from 3:30 PM – 1 AM, M-F ($0.25 differential)**
+ Third shift runs from 10 PM – 6:30 AM, M-F ($0.30 differential)**
*Please note that there may be some weekend shifts required as needed, expected between 1-3 days per month.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Conduct routine preventative maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
+ Execute necessary repairs independently or collaboratively with team members as required.
+ Operate safely in various working conditions, including wet surfaces and variable temperatures.
+ Engage in physical tasks within a manual labor environment, encompassing walking, standing, sitting, climbing, crouching, and shoveling across different seasonal weather conditions.
+ Uphold cleanliness and safety standards within the workspace.
+ Work under the direction of the Maintenance Manager while staying proactive and self-motivated.
+ Demonstrate effective problem-solving techniques to minimize equipment downtime.
+ Embrace a receptive attitude towards fostering effective teamwork and adaptability across various equipment.
+ Display flexibility and strong written and verbal communication skills, to navigate changes effectively.
+ Ensure compliance with company safety regulations and protocols.
+ Adhere to and demonstrate the principles of honesty, integrity, and respect in every aspect of their role.
Required Qualifications:
+ Possess a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance.
+ Proficiency in stick welding, pipe fitting, and basic electrical.
+ Able to occasionally lift objects weighing 50 pounds or more, perform overhead lifting and reaching, and comfortably crouch and bend down to conduct equipment maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Hands-on experience working with boilers, hydraulics, and augers.
+ High school diploma, GED, technical/trade school certificate, or equivalent certification.
+ Proficiency in using computer-based applications for fundamental business tasks like email, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Compensation:
+ Salary: $25-$31/hr, commensurate with experience
